Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Melbourne Water Infrastructure team and seeks a Principal Civil Engineer to deliver major water conveyance and pipeline projects across Victoria and Australia. You will lead multidisciplinary design and delivery from planning through commissioning, supported by our network of technical specialists.

You will bring a civil engineering degree, chartered status, and proven leadership in water/wastewater projects, client engagement, and delivery of complex pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with professional registration encouraged.
• Experience with water authorities and DAS knowledge.
• Proven delivery experience of water and wastewater pipelines and networks.
• Strong understanding of pipeline design and hydraulic analysis.
• Experience across planning, feasibility, design, construction and commissioning.
• Consulting background and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pipeline and water network solutions within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute from concept to construction and commissioning.
• Lead or support design of major transmission, wastewater and pumping infra.
• Build client and contractor relationships to drive project outcomes.
• Apply hydraulic and network knowledge to solve complex challenges.
• Support business development with tender and proposals.
• Mentor engineers while growing technical and leadership skills.
