Job summary

Ecology and Heritage Partners Pty Ltd – Sydney NSW is hosting Fyfe's 6-month Water Engineer contract to support a major growth program. You will model growth, analyse water networks and help identify capacity constraints and solutions while collaborating with a Senior Water Engineer.

You will prepare inputs, validate data, perform hydraulic analyses and use GIS to map growth areas and network upgrades, with opportunities for extension based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in water network planning and hydraulic modelling.
• GIS or spatial data experience will be highly regarded.

Fyfe is seeking a Water Engineer to support a major strategic growth program. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with the possibility of a further 6-month extension.

Working with a Senior Water Engineer, you will help assess the impact of growth areas, government housing initiatives and individual development proposals on the water network. You will prepare modelling inputs, analyse scenarios and support the identification of capacity constraints and infrastructure solutions.

What you'll do

• Support growth modelling: Prepare model inputs, run scenarios and analyse the impact of future growth on water networks.
• Maintain quality data: Collect, validate and maintain network datasets, growth assumptions and modelling documentation.
• Undertake hydraulic analysis: Assess capacity, pressure, flow, storage, pump station and treatment constraints.
• Use GIS and spatial information: Support analysis and representation of growth areas and network infrastructure.
• Assess development enquiries: Complete preliminary capacity assessments and identify potential constraints and upgrades.
• Develop options: Assist with model calibration, validation and the assessment of infrastructure augmentation options.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
• Experience in water network planning and hydraulic modelling
• Understanding of water network infrastructure and system behaviour
• Experience with engineering analysis and technical documentation
• GIS or spatial data experience will be highly regarded
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach
