Job summary

Fyfe is seeking an experienced Senior Wastewater Engineer to support a major strategic growth program in Australia. This 6-month contract opportunity includes the possibility of a further 6-month extension.

You will lead wastewater network modelling, assess capacity constraints, and oversee hydraulic modelling while guiding development assessments and supporting long-term investment planning. A senior role with mentorship responsibilities and strategic influence across growth areas is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in wastewater network planning and hydraulic modelling.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Experience using wastewater hydraulic modelling software.
• Experience applying modelling to strategic planning, development servicing or infrastructure investment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth planning: supervise wastewater network modelling and servicing strategies for growth areas.
• Assess network performance: identify capacity constraints, triggers and augmentation requirements.
• Deliver hydraulic modelling: oversee model development, simulations, methodologies and documentation.
• Advise on development enquiries: provide technical advice on developments, connections and servicing constraints.

Job description

Fyfe is seeking an experienced Senior Wastewater Engineer to support a major strategic growth program. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with the possibility of a further 6-month extension.

You will provide technical leadership across wastewater servicing strategies, hydraulic modelling and network analysis, helping assess the impact of future growth, government housing initiatives and major development areas on wastewater infrastructure. The role will also guide development and connection assessments and support long-term investment planning.

What you'll do

• Lead strategic growth planning: Supervise wastewater network modelling and develop servicing strategies for growth areas and major development precincts.
• Assess network performance: Identify existing and future capacity constraints, infrastructure triggers and augmentation requirements.
• Deliver hydraulic modelling: Oversee model development, simulations, assumptions, methodologies and documentation.
• Advise on development enquiries: Provide clear, defensible technical advice on proposed developments, connections, upgrades and servicing constraints.
• Provide technical leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, review outputs and establish consistent assessment methodologies.
• Support investment planning: Contribute to strategic growth plans, network plans, infrastructure staging and capital investment pipelines.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
• More than 10 years' experience in wastewater network planning and hydraulic modelling
• Demonstrated experience using wastewater hydraulic modelling software
• Experience applying modelling to strategic planning, development servicing or infrastructure investment
• Strong understanding of wastewater network infrastructure and system behaviour
• Experience providing technical leadership, peer review or mentoring
