Job summary

Fyfe is seeking a Wastewater Engineer to support a major strategic growth program in Sydney. This 6-month contract involves hydraulic modelling, data analysis and technical assessment to understand how growth areas and development proposals affect wastewater networks.

You will work with a Senior Wastewater Engineer to identify constraints, test scenarios and develop practical infrastructure options. The role emphasizes GIS, data quality and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience in wastewater network planning and hydraulic modelling.
• Understanding of wastewater network infrastructure and system behaviour.
• Experience with engineering analysis and technical documentation.
• GIS or spatial data experience will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support growth modelling: Prepare model inputs, run scenarios and analyse the impact of future growth on wastewater networks.
• Maintain quality data: Collect, validate and maintain network datasets, growth assumptions and modelling documentation.
• Undertake hydraulic analysis: Assess capacity, flow, storage, pump station and treatment constraints through relevant simulations.
• Use GIS and spatial information: Support the representation and analysis of growth areas and network infrastructure.
• Assess development enquiries: Complete preliminary network capacity assessments and identify potential constraints and upgrades.
• Develop options: Assist with model calibration, validation and the assessment of infrastructure augmentation options.

Working with a Senior Wastewater Engineer, you will use hydraulic modelling, data analysis and technical assessment to understand how growth areas, government housing strategies and development proposals may affect wastewater networks. You will help identify constraints, test scenarios and develop practical infrastructure options.
