Metcash Limited in Palmyra, WA seeks an experienced Dry Stores Lead to manage day-to-day picking operations and a mid-size team. You will ensure orders are picked safely, accurately, and efficiently while upholding productivity, stock integrity, and food safety standards.

You will lead, coach and develop a hands-on team, plan daily workloads, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in picking processes and labour utilisation.

Qualificações

• Experience leading a warehouse or picking team.
• Hands-on leadership style with clear expectations.
• Strong planning and labour allocation abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of WHS, manual handling and safe warehouse practices.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
• Experience with stock rotation and inventory control.

About the Opportunity

Based in Palmyra, this full-time opportunity will see you lead the day-to-day Dry Stores picking operation and a mid size team. You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring customer orders are picked safely, accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong standards across productivity, stock integrity, food safety and workplace safety.

In this Role

• Lead, coach and support a team of pickers.

• Maintain strong stock control, rotation and product-handling practices.
• Champion workplace safety, food safety, HACCP and hygiene requirements.
• Partner with replenishment, inventory, receivals and despatch teams to keep warehouse operations flowing.
• Train and induct team members in systems, procedures and safe work methods.
• Identify opportunities to improve picking processes, labour utilisation and productivity

What are we looking for?

• Team leadership, supervision or coordination experience is highly desirable, with demonstrated leadership capability also considered.
• A hands-on, approachable leadership style with the confidence to set clear expectations.
• Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse picking, stock rotation and inventory control.
• Understanding of WHS, manual handling and safe warehouse practices.
• Ability to work with warehouse management systems and RF scanning equipment.
• Food, grocery, FMCG or temperature-controlled distribution experience is advantageous
