Job summary

Metcash Limited is recruiting for a Warehouse Storeperson / Forklift Operator at our Darwin site. This on-site role involves picking, checking, wrapping and staging products to ensure accurate, safe and timely customer orders.

We value safety, accuracy and efficiency, with shifts across early, mid and late spans. Experience with RF devices and a proactive, detail-oriented work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence preferred and safety training helpful.
• Experience in warehouse, distribution centre or logistics environments.
• Proven ability to meet productivity and accuracy targets.
• Competence with RF scanners or similar mobile devices.
• Safety-first mindset with good manual-handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable work ethic.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and device handling; own transport may be required.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick products according to quantity, quality and rotation requirements.
• Meet productivity targets while maintaining order accuracy.
• Check orders and report stock discrepancies or damage.
• Label, wrap and stage pallets for dispatch.
• Follow safety, HACCP, food safety and environmental procedures.
• Use RF scanners to complete picking tasks.
• Assist with stock checks and maintain tidy stock locations.
• Support receiving, replenishment and loading activities as required.

About The Opportunity

Join our Darwin Independent Grocers Campbells warehouse team as a Warehouse Storeperson / Forklift Operator on a full-time permanent or casual basis. In this onsite role, you’ll play an important part in getting customer orders ready accurately, safely and on time, including picking, checking, wrapping and staging products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and inventory accuracy.

Opportunities Are Available Across Various Shifts

• 6:30am – 2:30pm
• 10:00am – 6:00pm
• 2:00pm – 10:00pm

In this Role

• Accurately pick products according to quantity, quality and rotation requirements.
• Meet established productivity targets while maintaining order accuracy.
• Check completed orders and report stock discrepancies or damage.
• Label, wrap and stage pallets safely for dispatch.
• Follow workplace safety, HACCP, food safety and environmental procedures.
• Use RF scanners or similar devices to complete assigned picking work.
• Assist with stock checks and maintain accurate, tidy stock locations.
• Support receiving, replenishment and loading activities when required.

What are we looking for?

• A valid forklift licence is preferred but not essential.
• Previous warehouse, distribution centre or logistics experience.
• Experience meeting productivity and accuracy targets.
• Confidence using RF scanners or similar mobile technology.
• A safety-first approach with sound manual-handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and a dependable work ethic.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and device skills, along with your own transport.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends and overtime when required.
