Job summary

Metcash is seeking a Store Operations Manager in Melbourne to lead a busy wholesale branch, driving operational excellence and delivering outstanding customer service. You will manage frontline teams, ensure DIFOT, and foster a safe, high-performing culture.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will drive targets, coach supervisors, and build strong relationships with customers and partners in a fast-paced, people-focused operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading operational teams.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
• Experience managing budgets, operational performance, and productivity.
• Knowledge of warehouse, inventory, or supply chain operations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day branch operations, ensuring exceptional service and DIFOT (Delivered In Full, On Time) performance.
• Drive operational, sales, and financial targets while identifying opportunities to improve branch performance.
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members to build a high-performing, engaged workforce.
• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, Food Safety, HACCP, and environmental requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and operational partners to deliver outstanding service.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer outcomes.

As our next Store Operations Manager, you'll lead a busy wholesale branch, driving operational excellence, delivering outstanding customer service, and building a safe, high-performing team culture.

Working Hours:

• Core shifts run Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM - 4:30 PM
• One Saturday shift every four weeks, with time in lieu provided the following week

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are delivered in full and on time, leading frontline teams, and identifying opportunities to improve performance, productivity, and customer outcomes.
