Job summary

Career Meister in Melbourne seeks a Senior Manager – Operations to lead a 3PL warehouse operation in Laverton North. You’ll oversee a team of about 24 FTE across morning and afternoon shifts, manage receiving, inventory, picking, packing, ecommerce fulfilment and dispatch, and drive client KPIs.

The role reports to the National Logistics Manager and Warehouse Manager, staying close to the floor and acting as the client’s main operational contact.

• Substantial experience leading warehouse or 3PL operations with daily performance responsibility.
• Track record of delivering client KPIs, SLAs and productivity targets.
• Experience coaching supervisors or frontline leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across receiving, inventory, picking, packing, e-commerce fulfilment and dispatch.
• Deliver client KPIs and SLAs, including DIFOT, order accuracy, inventory integrity and turnaround.
• Plan labour across shifts and coach supervisors to build leadership depth.
• Act as client’s main operational contact, including audits and reviews.
• Use WMS and data to fix recurring issues while maintaining WHS and CoR compliance.

Job description

Lead a 3PL operation where your experience shows in the results and in the people.

Our client, an established logistics services provider, is expanding and has created a new Senior Manager – Operations position in Laverton North.

You will lead a dedicated client operation within a warehouse of around 24 FTE across morning and afternoon shifts. From receiving and inventory control to e-commerce fulfilment and dispatch, the job is to keep the operation performing while developing the people who run it.

Reporting to the National Logistics Manager and the Warehouse Manager, you will be close to the floor, in regular contact with the client and accountable for operational results.

• Location: Laverton North, Melbourne West

• Employment: Full-time, on-site

• Hours: Monday to Friday, generally 7:30am to 3:30pm/4:00pm

• Team: Warehouse workforce: Approx. 24 FTE across AM and PM shifts

• Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 + super, negotiable for the right candidate

What you’ll be doing

• Lead daily operations across receiving, inventory, picking, packing, e-commerce fulfilment and dispatch

• Deliver client KPIs and SLAs, including DIFOT, order accuracy, inventory integrity and turnaround

• Plan labour across both shifts, and coach supervisors and team leaders to build the next layer of leadership

• Act as the client’s main operational contact, from daily communication to audits and reviews

• Use WMS and operational data to fix recurring issues and maintain WHS and CoR compliance

What you’ll bring

• Substantial experience leading warehouse or 3PL operations, with responsibility for teams and daily performance

• A track record of delivering client KPIs, SLAs and productivity targets

• Experience coaching supervisors or frontline leaders

• Working knowledge of WMS, RF scanning, WHS and Chain of Responsibility

• Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Highly regarded: contract logistics, retail distribution or e-commerce fulfilment experience, SOP development and a current LF forklift licence.
