Are you an experienced warehouse, logistics or procurement leader ready to take ownership of a diverse, multi-site operation? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a proactive Warehouse & Inventory Coordinator to lead staff, strengthen inventory control, support supplier and contract activity, and drive safe, efficient warehouse operations across our workshop locations and depots. This is an opportunity to step into a practical leadership role where your warehouse expertise, systems knowledge and improvement mindset will directly support Council’s frontline operations and service delivery across the Mackay region.
As Warehouse & Inventory Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse operations while helping shape longer-term improvements in stock control, supplier engagement, contract review and operational performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and workshop teams, you will help ensure materials, equipment and inventory are available, accurate, compliant and managed safely across multiple locations. You will also play a key role in modernising our inventory and warehouse systems, strengthening purchasing controls, and reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.
You are a confident and collaborative warehouse leader who can balance operational priorities with strong people leadership, compliance and continuous improvement. You will bring a proactive approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to work strategically while still staying connected to day-to-day warehouse requirements.
