RJ Bathroom Renovations Pty Ltd is seeking a Wall and Floor Tiler to tile walls and floors in residential renovations across Sydney. You will read plans, prepare surfaces, cut and install tiles, apply adhesives, grout and sealants, and ensure quality finishes.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant tiling experience.
• Experience across bathroom, kitchen, pool or outdoor tiling projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret renovation plans and specifications.
• Experience using tile-cutting tools, adhesives, grout and tiling equipment.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, tile installation, waterproofing, grouting and finishing techniques.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport to attend residential job sites across Sydney.

Job Description

RJ Bathroom Renovations Pty Ltd The Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for carrying out wall and floor tiling works across residential bathroom, kitchen, pool and outdoor renovation projects. The position involves interpreting plans and measurements, preparing and levelling surfaces, measuring and setting out work areas, selecting and preparing materials, cutting and installing tiles, applying adhesives and waterproofing systems where required, completing grouting and silicone works, and ensuring all tiling work is completed to a high standard of quality, accuracy and finish.

The Wall and Floor Tiler is also responsible for maintaining a safe and organised work area, using tools and equipment correctly, following workplace health and safety requirements, and completing work in accordance with project specifications and relevant Australian standards. Benefits Task & responsibilities JOB DUTIES Read renovation plans and specifications, measure surfaces, and accurately mark out areas for tiling. Prepare walls, floors, wet areas, pool areas, and other surfaces for tiling.

Remove existing/old tiles, grout, and adhesive, and repair and level uneven or damaged surfaces. Apply appropriate adhesives and install ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, glass, and mosaic tiles. Measure, cut, and shape tiles to accurately fit corners, edges, fixtures, drains, and pipework.

Align and level tiles, maintaining consistent spacing and accurate tile lines. Cut and shape tiles to fit corners, edges, fixtures, drains, and pipework. Apply grout and appropriate sealants, and clean and finish completed tiled surfaces.

Prepare and waterproof wet areas and pool surrounds prior to tiling, where required. Install pool coping, pool surrounds, and outdoor paving. Apply screed or render to prepare and level surfaces for tiling.

Inspect completed tiling work and rectify defects to achieve a high-quality and professional finish. RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate tiling work with builders, plumbers and other trades on renovation projects. Follow plans, specifications and client requirements when completing tiling work.

Select and use appropriate tiles, adhesives, grout, tools and equipment. Confirm measurements, tile quantities, layouts, patterns, and set-out requirements before installation. Calculate required materials and minimise material wastage.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any faults or damage when required. Protect existing fixtures, fittings, surfaces, and completed areas during renovation and tiling works. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices when handling materials and operating tools and equipment.

Follow workplace health and safety requirements, including the safe use of cutting tools. Inspect completed work and address any defects or issues identified during the project. Maintain accurate and consistent tile levels, falls, joints, cuts, and finishes, particularly around wet areas, drains, niches, and pool areas.

Complete preparation, installation, grouting, sealing, and finishing works within agreed project timeframes. Complete tiling works within project requirements and to the required quality, finish, and professional standards. Follow workplace health and safety requirements, including the safe use of cutting tools.

Qualification & experience SKILL, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification; OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience in wall and floor tiling Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler Experience across bathroom, kitchen, pool or outdoor tiling projects is highly desirable Ability to read and interpret renovation plans and specifications. Experience using tile-cutting tools, adhesives, grout and tiling equipment. Knowledge of surface preparation, tile installation, waterproofing requirements, grouting, and finishing techniques.

Good attention to detail and quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills.

Ability to measure surfaces, calculate material requirements, and minimise material wastage. Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including the safe use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Current driver's licence and reliable transport to attend residential job sites across Sydney.
