Job summary

Winbrook Building is seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler for full-time work across Greater Sydney. The role involves measuring, cutting and laying ceramic, porcelain and stone tiles, preparing surfaces and ensuring high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities include substrate preparation, grout and sealant application, and tile repairs on existing buildings. A White Card and valid driver license are required for site travel and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent trade qualification.
• At least two years of tiling experience in residential construction, renovations or remedial tiling.
• Ability to read plans, measure and prepare substrates accurately.
• Strong knowledge of tiling materials, adhesives, grouts and installation methods.
• High-quality workmanship and commitment to safety on site.

Responsibilities

• Examine plans and specifications to determine tiling requirements.
• Prepare walls and floors by removing old tiles and prep materials.
• Repair and level substrates prior to tiling and cut/position tiles accurately.
• Apply adhesives and lay tiles per plans and manufacturer requirements.
• Grout, sealants and finishing materials; ensure surfaces are level and well-finished.
• Diagnose and rectify tile damage and perform replacements as needed.
• Coordinate with supervisors and trades to complete projects on time.

Job Description

Winbrook Building Key responsibilities Examine plans, specifications and work areas to determine tiling requirements. Measure surfaces and mark reference points to ensure accurate tile placement. Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing existing tiles, grout, adhesives and damaged materials.

Repair and level substrates before tiling, including remedial preparation work. Cut, shape and position ceramic, porcelain, stone and other tiles. Apply adhesives and lay tiles in accordance with plans, specifications and manufacturer requirements.

Apply grout, sealants and finishing materials to completed surfaces. Diagnose and rectify defective, cracked, loose or water-damaged tiled areas. Undertake tile replacement and other remedial tiling work on existing buildings.

Ensure finished work is level, aligned, properly spaced and completed to a high standard. Calculate material requirements and minimise waste. Follow workplace health and safety requirements and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Coordinate with supervisors, builders and other trades to complete projects within required timeframes.

Skills and Experience

A Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.

At least two years of relevant wall and floor tiling experience. Experience in residential construction, renovations and remedial tiling work. Demonstrated ability to prepare substrates and complete tile repairs and replacement work.

Strong knowledge of tiling materials, adhesives, grouts, sealants and installation methods. The ability to read plans, take accurate measurements and work independently. Good attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. A current driver licence and the ability to travel between project sites. Reliable transport and appropriate construction industry safety accreditation, including a White Card.
