XBATHROOMSPTY LTD is seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler for a full-time, ongoing position on the Gold Coast. The role involves 38 ordinary hours per week and a base salary of $85,000 per year, exclusive of employer superannuation contributions.

The successful candidate will tile residential and commercial spaces, read plans, ensure accurate measurement, and adhere to safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in wall and floor tiling, construction or related trade.
• At least two years of full-time work experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler or in a closely related occupation.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of waterproofing requirements and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Examine plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials and methods.
• Measure and mark surfaces for tile installation.
• Prepare walls and floors, including waterproofing where required.
• Cut, shape and install ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic tiles.
• Apply adhesives, mortar and other bonding materials.
• Lay and fix tiles with correct alignment and spacing.
• Grout, seal and finish tiled surfaces.
• Repair damaged tiles and maintain tools and workspace safety.

About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Wall and Floor Tiler to join our business on a full-time, ongoing basis.

This is a full-time position based on 38 ordinary hours per week.

The successful applicant will receive a base salary of $85,000 per annum, which is intended to be exclusive of compulsory employer superannuation contributions.

In addition to the annual salary, the employee will receive:

• Compulsory employer superannuation contributions in accordance with applicable Commonwealth legislation.
• Any applicable penalty rates, overtime rates, shift loadings, allowances or other monetary entitlements where required by applicable industrial instruments or legislation.
• Four weeks of paid annual leave per year, together with other leave entitlements required under the National Employment Standards.
• Personal/carer’s leave, compassionate leave, public holiday entitlements and other minimum conditions in accordance with applicable workplace laws.
• Any other applicable entitlements under the relevant modern award, enterprise agreement (if applicable), Fair Work legislation and employment contract.
• The position will be remunerated at a level that meets or exceeds all applicable minimum employment and salary requirements, including those relevant to the nominated occupation and the applicable industrial instrument. The terms and conditions of employment will be no less favorable than those that would apply to an Australian citizen/Australian permanent resident performing equivalent work.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to perform duties including, but not limited to:

• Examining plans, drawings, specifications and work areas to determine materials and methods required for tiling work.
• Measuring and marking surfaces and preparing work areas for the installation of tiles.
• Preparing wall and floor surfaces, including cleaning, levelling, repairing and applying waterproofing or other required surface treatments.
• Cutting, shaping and finishing ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic and other tiles using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Applying adhesives, mortar and other bonding materials.
• Laying and fixing wall and floor tiles accurately in accordance with plans, specifications and required finishes.
• Ensuring correct alignment, spacing, levels and patterns.
• Cutting tiles around fixtures, fittings, corners, pipes and other obstructions.
• Grouting, sealing and finishing tiled surfaces.
• Repairing and replacing damaged or defective tiles where required.
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Complying with workplace health and safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, quality control and customer service.
• Working independently and as part of a construction or trade team.
• Performing other duties reasonably associated with the occupation.

Skill & Experience

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

• Relevant qualifications in wall and floor tiling, construction or a closely related trade; and/or
• At least two years of relevant full-time work experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler or in a closely related occupation.
• Demonstrated practical experience in wall and floor preparation and tile installation.
• Experience working with ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic and other tiling materials.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, lay and finish tiles.
• Knowledge of waterproofing requirements and safe work practices relevant to tiling and construction work.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

Relevant trade qualifications and Australian industry experience will be highly regarded.
