We're seeking a Business Development Manager to join the team!
Are you a commercially driven, technically minded sales professional who thrives on building meaningful relationships and delivering innovative solutions? This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of an established territory in Western Australia while playing a pivotal role in shaping the growth of a fast-moving, innovation-led business in the smart work zone technology space. With significant autonomy, uncapped earning potential and the chance to work on some of WA's most significant infrastructure projects, this role offers far more than a standard sales position — it's a genuine platform to make your mark.
What you'll be doing?
- Own and grow a WA territory — Take full ownership of an established customer portfolio while actively pursuing new business across civil construction, infrastructure, government, traffic management and related industries.
- Build strategic relationships — Cultivate strong, lasting connections with project managers, estimators, procurement teams and key decision-makers, attending client meetings, site visits and industry networking events.
- Develop tailored solutions — Consult with customers to understand their operational, safety and reporting needs, then co-develop project-specific turnkey solutions with internal teams and suppliers.
- Drive the full sales cycle — From pipeline generation and market intelligence through to preparing proposals, negotiating outcomes and assisting with tender submissions.
- Collaborate and communicate — Work closely with Operations and Customer Service, maintain accurate CRM records, present quarterly sales plans and translate complex technical concepts into clear, commercially compelling proposals.
- Stay ahead of the market — Monitor emerging technologies including Intelligent Transport Systems and identify how innovations can solve real customer and industry challenges.
Who are they looking for?
- Experienced sales professional — At least 3 years in business development, account management or external sales, with a proven track record of winning new clients and growing existing accounts through face-to-face engagement and cold calling.
- Industry background — Experience and established networks within civil construction, infrastructure, government, traffic management or related industries; prior experience in equipment hire or rental is highly regarded.
- Technical and solutions-oriented — Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand how equipment, software and systems work together, and experience selling engineered or project-specific solutions rather than standard products.
- Commercially sharp — Confident negotiator with strong communication skills, a consultative mindset and the ability to interpret project scopes, site plans and technical briefs.
- Self-driven and professional — A highly motivated individual who takes ownership of their performance, operates with initiative and can think creatively while remaining commercially focused.
- Practical requirements — Current Australian driver's licence; Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Why you should consider this opportunity?
Our client offers an attractive remuneration package and other benefits, such as:
- Uncapped performance incentives — A competitive base salary complemented by uncapped incentives that directly reward your results and effort.
- Fully maintained company vehicle — A company car is provided and fully maintained, so you can focus on what matters most — building relationships and winning business.
- Tools of the trade — A phone and laptop are provided so you're fully equipped to perform from day one.
- Career progression — Genuine opportunities to grow within a business that is scaling rapidly and investing in its people.
- Territory autonomy — The freedom to manage and shape your own Western Australia territory, with the support of an experienced national team behind you.
- Work on landmark projects — The chance to be involved in some of Western Australia's largest and most complex infrastructure projects.
- A culture that values contribution — A positive, collaborative and supportive team environment where your ideas and effort genuinely make a difference.
- Flexible working arrangements — While primarily on-site and on the road, there is scope to discuss flexibility around working arrangements.
