Job summary

Melbourne Water Corporation is seeking a strategic leader to drive vulnerability, equity and social impact initiatives across the organization and with government, regulators and community partners. The role focuses on establishing a cohesive program aligned to customer commitments and sector-wide improvements.

Reporting to the Manager External Policy, the Vulnerability and Social Impact Manager will shape strategy, governance and performance, delivering measurable outcomes for communities

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering vulnerability, social impact or customer programs in utilities, government, or community sectors.
• Strong understanding of customer vulnerability, equity, and community expectations within a regulated service environment.
• Proven experience managing complex programs, partnerships, contracts and funding arrangements to deliver measurable outcomes.
• Expertise in developing and implementing vulnerability, equity and social impact strategies and initiatives.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement, partnership and communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
• Governance, performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting capabilities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with evidence-based recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and delivery of Melbourne Water's vulnerability and social impact program.
• Oversee program funding, governance, performance and reporting for accountability and outcomes.
• Embed vulnerability, equity and social impact into customer programs and policies.
• Build strategic partnerships and manage contracts and stakeholders for delivery of community outcomes.
• Develop engagement and advocacy strategies with regulators, government and community partners.
