Job summary

Upper Lachlan Shire Council in NSW is seeking a friendly Visitor Information Officer to welcome visitors and enhance their experience in our rural region.

You will deliver quality customer service, promote local attractions and work as part of a small, supportive team with weekend rosters and seasonal overtime.

Qualifications

• Contemporary knowledge and demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service to a diverse range of customers in tourism or retail environments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office.
• Availability to work weekends as part of a roster.
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.
• Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
• A Certificate III in Marketing, Tourism or similar is desirable, but not essential.
• A Food Safety Certificate is desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable visitor experiences at the Visitor Information Centre.
• Promote local area, attractions and services to visitors.
• Support efficient operation of the Visitor Information Centre.
• Work weekend rosters and additional hours during peak periods such as summer and major events.

About the Role

Based in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Upper Lachlan Shire is known for its agricultural industries, rich history and picturesque countryside.

As a Visitor Information Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the new Visitor Information Centre, located within the pool and park precinct. You will provide friendly, knowledgeable and engaging visitor experiences, helping visitors make the most of their visit while promoting the local area, attractions and services.

This is a part-time position of 32 hours per fortnight, with weekend work and additional hours required during summer and major events.
