Job summary

The Plaza Hotel in Sydney is seeking a polished VIP Host to own the guest experience in our VIP and bottle service areas. You will be the face of our premium offering, greeting guests, guiding them to their tables, and ensuring a seamless start to their night.

This fast-paced, high-energy role requires superb hospitality flair, the ability to read a room, and a commitment to delivering memorable experiences for VIP guests while coordinating with the bottle service and venue management teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as VIP Host, Door Host, Guest Relations or similar front-of-house role in nightlife venues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-presented, confident and professional in high-energy settings.
• Strong multitasking ability to manage guest requests, bookings and floor coordination.

The Plaza Hotel is one of Sydney CBD's most iconic multi-level entertainment venues, bringing together dining, cocktails, and nightlife under one roof at 600 George Street. From our intimate basement cocktail bar with handcrafted drinks and DJ entertainment, to our Level One nightclub hosting international and local talent, through to our bistro and sports bar, The Plaza is where Sydney comes to be seen. About the Role

We're looking for a polished, personable VIP Host to join our team and own the guest experience for our VIP and bottle service areas. You'll be the face of our premium offering — the first point of contact for VIP guests, the person who makes them feel like the night is built around them, and the glue between the guest, the bottle service team, and venue management.

This is a high-energy, guest-facing role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced nightlife environment, genuinely enjoys hospitality, and knows how to read a room and anticipate what a guest needs before they ask.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and host VIP guests on arrival, escorting them to their tables/areas and ensuring a seamless start to their night
• Manage VIP bookings, table allocations, and guest lists across our basement bar and Level One nightclub
• Liaise closely with the bottle service and bar teams to ensure orders and table service run smoothly and on time
• Build genuine rapport with regular and high-value guests to encourage repeat visits and loyalty
• Proactively upsell premium tables, packages, and bottle service experiences
• Coordinate with security and floor management to manage guest flow, table turnover, and venue capacity
• Handle guest requests and any on-the-spot issues with professionalism and a solutions-first attitude
• Maintain a polished, professional presence throughout the night, representing the venue's premium standards

About You

• Previous experience as a VIP Host, Door Host, Guest Relations, or similar front-of-house role in a nightclub, bar, or high-end hospitality venue
• A natural people-person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well presented, confident, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of guests
• Able to stay calm, organised, and professional in a loud, fast-paced, late-night environment
• Strong multitasking skills — juggling guest requests, bookings, and floor coordination simultaneously
• Availability to work nights and weekends, including late finishes
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
