Job summary

AVC Operations Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead a busy Rockhampton venue, drive guest experiences and commercial outcomes, and build a strong local team. You will oversee daily operations, labour, stock and costs while maintaining high standards and community relationships.

The role offers leadership development, a clear path to progression, and the chance to shape one of Rockhampton’s best-known community venues with support from a leading hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Venue Manager or equivalent hospitality leadership role.
• Proven track record in developing and retaining strong teams and driving results.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills with a front‑line leadership approach.

A true local favourite, Berserker Tavern combines a thriving family-friendly atmosphere with a vibrant sports and entertainment offering. Featuring a large beer garden with live music every weekend, a modern sports bar with TAB and big screens, plus a popular kids' playground and free Sunday entertainment, this is a high-energy venue that caters to the whole community.

We're looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead the team and continue building on the venue's strong local reputation. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality leader who enjoys running busy operations, developing people, driving commercial results and creating memorable guest experiences.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the day-to-day operations of a high-volume hospitality venue
• Building, coaching and developing a high-performing management and venue team
• Driving a positive team culture with a strong focus on talent development and succession planning
• Delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high operational standards
• Managing labour, wages, stock, costs and venue profitability
• Growing community engagement and building strong local relationships
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies and legislative requirements

We're looking for someone who

• Has at least 2 years' experience in a similar Venue Manager role
• Is a stable and proven hospitality leader with strong tenure
• Has a commercial mindset and understands how to drive revenue and profitability
• Has a track record of building, developing and retaining great teams
• Leads from the front with strong communication and people leadership skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment
