Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Driver to join our Transport Services team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will help move Defence personnel safely and reliably, with maintenance and inspection duties to keep vehicles ready for service.

The role supports critical Defence operations and involves route planning, GPS navigation, and timely documentation. Competitive hourly rate applies with uniform and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience as a Driver.
• A valid Australian driver’s license with LR/MR/HR/HC classes.
• Experience operating a range of vehicles in a Defence environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive Defence personnel to and from bases.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Conduct non-technical inspections to ensure fleet readiness.
• Carry out mail duties and transport documents between bases.
• Complete basic transport paperwork and filing.

About The Role

Ventia is seeking an experienced Driver to join our Transport Services team on a Full time, permanent basis. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital support function in a dynamic Defence environment

Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Safely drive Defence personnel to and from
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including cleaning, inspections, basic fault finding, minor repairs, and tyre/wheel changes
• Conduct non-technical inspections on fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness
• Carry out mail duties including sorting, distribution, and delivery between bases
• Complete basic paperwork and filing tasks related to transport operations

Requirements Of The Role

• 1+ years’ experience as a Driver
• A valid Australian driver's license - must be LR, MR, HR or HC
• Experience in operating a range of vehicles, preferably in a similar environment
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles
• Skilled in route planning and navigation, including the use of GPS and maps
• You work safely, follow procedures, look out for your team, and report incidents or hazards without delay

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
