South Gippsland Septic Tank Cleaning – Leongatha, VIC is hiring a motivated operator to join our small, supportive team. The role is casual to start with, with potential for full-time hours. Expect early starts around 7–8am, with varied finish times based on workload.

Responsibilities include operating vacuum trucks for septic work, basic plumbing tasks, and documenting service visits via app systems. A strong customer focus and readiness to work long hours are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded with ability to operate trucks and perform basic servicing.
• Experience in liquid waste removal, wastewater systems, mechanics or plumbing is highly regarded.
• MR License is required; clean driving history.
• Physically fit and able to lift and perform manual tasks.
• Excellent communication and a customer-first approach, with reliability and independence.

Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum trucks for septic pump-outs and related waste operations.
• Perform basic plumbing work and routine servicing of septic and wastewater systems.
• Complete site condition reports and update service records; use app-based systems for documentation.
• Deliver high levels of customer service and build client relationships.
• Be available for long hours, especially in peak seasons, and adapt to varying workloads.

NOW HIRING – Vacuum Truck Operator

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated team member to join us on a casual basis to start with, with potentially full‑time hours available.

You'll have a schedule set on your own app each day for jobs, details and locations, start time at the yard is usually between 7 and 8am - finish times can vary depending on workloads.

You will assist with a range of tasks, including:

• Operation of Vacuum Trucks for septic pump-outs, liquid waste, grease traps, industrial waste and clearing blockages
• Basic plumbing work, routine servicing and maintenance of residential and commercial septic and wastewater systems
• Conducting site condition reports and updates, service records, and using app-based systems for job documentation
• Providing a high level of customer service and building strong client relationships.
• Capable of working long hours particularly during the summer season, and other days throughout the year depending on workflows.

This is a physically active and varied role that requires common sense, initiative, and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

What We're Looking For

• Mechanically minded (ESSENTIAL) Must be capable of operating truck and basic routine servicing immediately.
• Experience in liquid waste removal, wastewater systems, mechanics, or plumbing is highly regarded
• MR License minimum
• Physically fit and strong – able to lift, kneel, bend, and perform manual tasks
• Strong work ethic, problem‑solving ability and High attention to details
• Ability to think quick and adapt to change for assisting in emergency works
• Reliable, independent, and able to manage daily schedules
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-first attitude, ability to rebook jobs and liaise with customers throughout the day accordingly, while updating job programs.
