Job summary

ASG Civil and Industrial is seeking experienced NDD/Hydro Excavation, Jet Vac and drain cleaning truck operators for our Ballarat depot. You will operate vacuum trucks and drain cleaning units on sewer, stormwater, and water infrastructure projects in Ballarat and regional Victoria.

The role requires HR or MR licence, White Card, and a strong safety mindset. Overtime and allowances are available with ongoing regional work from Ballarat.

• HR or MR licence and White Card required.
• HPWJ ticket and Confined Space Entry highly regarded.

NDD / Hydro Excavation, Jet Vac & Drain Cleaning Truck Operators

Full-time, immediate start at our Ballarat depot. Overtime + allowances, ongoing regional work.

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced NDD (Non-Destructive Digging) / Hydro Excavation, Jet Vac and Drain Cleaning Truck Operators to join our Ballarat depot.

In this role, you will operate vacuum trucks and drain cleaning units to deliver a variety of works including non-destructive excavation, hydro excavation, sewer, stormwater and drain cleaning, blockage clearing, and pipeline condition assessments.

Our clients include major water authorities, councils, and civil contractors. Work will be based out of Ballarat and carried out across the region and wider regional Victoria. Ballarat is roughly an hour from Melbourne's west — metro-based operators willing to commute are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate NDD / Hydro Excavation trucks, Jet Vac trucks and drain cleaning units
• Perform pipeline cleaning, drain cleaning and blockage clearing on sewer and stormwater networks
• Perform hydro excavation and non-destructive digging to locate underground assets
• Work on water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure projects
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
• Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Collaborate with supervisors, project teams, and clients to ensure works are delivered on time and to specification

About You

• Proven experience operating NDD / Hydro Excavation, Jet Vac or drain cleaning trucks
• HR or MR licence
• White Card (Construction Induction) – essential
• Confined Space Entry ticket – highly regarded
• HPWJ ticket
• Understanding of water, sewer, and drainage systems
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
