Job summary

ProFound People is seeking a V&V Engineer based in Melbourne, Australia. In this role, you will validate integrated, safety- and mission-critical systems, using hands-on methods across the full lifecycle, including lab testing and field trials.

The ideal candidate will have experience in verification, testing, and systems engineering, alongside qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics fields. If you're passionate about proving systems work, we want you on our team!

Love the moment a complex system finally proves it works? We're after a V&V Engineer who takes that personally.

You might not call yourself a "V&V Engineer" today - you could be a Systems, Test, Integration, or Verification Engineer who's done plenty of this work and wants to specialise in it. If proving systems out is the part of the job you enjoy most, read on.

You'll validate integrated, safety- and mission-critical systems - the kind where sensors, hardware, communications, and control software all have to work together, and "probably fine" isn't good enough. This is hands-on V&V across the full lifecycle, not paperwork from a desk: lab, integration bench, and real-world field trials.

What you\'ll be doing

• Owning V&V plans, procedures, and verification artefacts aligned to program requirements
• Defining verification criteria and acceptance methods at system and subsystem level
• Leading functional, integration, environmental, and acceptance testing across hardware and software
• Supporting and running field testing and trials, including in challenging real-world environments
• Maintaining full traceability from requirements through to verification evidence, and driving defect resolution with engineering teams

What you\'ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• A track record in verification, test, integration, or systems engineering roles within multidisciplinary teams
• Practical experience integrating and testing real hardware
• Confidence reading schematics, drawings, and interface documentation
• A strong grasp of verification frameworks and strong problem-solving under pressure

Experience from any complex-systems domain is welcome - aerospace, defence, rail, automotive, medical devices, industrial automation, energy, robotics, and beyond.

Nice to have

• Australian Citizenship and/or an existing security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) - useful for some of the work, but not essential to start the conversation
