Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd seeks a global Systems Engineering and Verification & Validation Manager to lead how products are specified, built and proven across new product development, sustaining engineering and customer projects. Location: South East, Melbourne, with international travel.

You will be the global authority for systems engineering and V&V, setting the standard that engineering teams across multiple regions work to.

Qualifications

• Degree in systems, electrical, mechanical or software engineering or equivalent experience.
• Substantial experience leading full lifecycle systems engineering and V&V in regulated/safety-critical environments.
• Proven ownership of stage gate and technical acceptance decisions under schedule pressure.
• Experience leading senior engineers and matrix teams across sites or regions.
• Strong command of requirements, traceability, test and configuration management tools.
• Confident communicator at executive level with sound judgement and conflict resolution skills.
• Willing to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve an ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 aligned lifecycle tailored to programme risk and complexity.
• Approve or reject V&V strategies, evidence and gate submissions.
• Define V&V strategy from programme start covering requirements, test environments and regulatory evidence.
• Represent Systems Engineering at design, governance and type approval forums.
• Set common methods, tools and metrics for requirements, traceability, architecture and test.
• Lead customer, quality and certification audits.
• Manage capacity, budget, external labs and suppliers for the function.
• Lead a team of systems engineers and guide regional validation and test engineers through a matrix structure.
• Champion a safety first culture across engineering and test.

A global manufacturer of safety critical products for regulated markets is looking for a Systems Engineering and Verification & Validation Manager to lead how products are specified, built and proven across new product development, sustaining engineering and customer projects.

The role

You will be the global authority for systems engineering and V&V, setting the standard that engineering teams across multiple regions work to.

You will:

• Own and improve an ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 aligned lifecycle, tailored to programme risk and complexity
• Approve or reject V&V strategies, evidence and gate submissions, holding the line when evidence falls short
• Define V&V strategy from programme start, covering requirements coverage, test environments, regulatory evidence and acceptance testing
• Represent Systems Engineering at design, governance and type approval forums
• Set common methods, tools and metrics for requirements, traceability, architecture and test
• Lead customer, quality and certification audits
• Manage capacity, budget, external labs and suppliers for the function
• Lead a team of systems engineers and guide regional validation and test engineers through a matrix structure
• Champion a safety first culture across engineering and test

About you

Nice to have

• INCOSE CSEP/ESEP or equivalent
• Experience in MBSE, product line architecture, reliability, functional safety, cybersecurity or human factors
• Background in aviation, marine or other infrastructure markets
