Job summary

ForHealth Group in Australia is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. You will triage, provide frontline care and collaborate with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner to identify patients appropriate for the service.

This role emphasizes hands-on skills such as suturing and plastering, with no overnight shifts and opportunities to grow within a leading primary care network. Ideal candidates hold current AHPRA registration, are available evenings and weekends, and meet

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as an RN is required.
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting OR 3 years of triage experience OR 3 years in ICU/CCU/Rural or remote nursing.
• Working with Children’s check and National Police check required; International checks where relevant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required.
• Ability to assess health deterioration and escalate appropriately.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Autonomous work capability and ability to delegate when appropriate.
• Passion for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients in urgent care and triage accordingly.
• Conduct thorough nursing triage and prioritize care.
• Identify emergencies or deterioration and escalate promptly.
• Perform hands-on procedures such as suturing and plastering.
• Adapt to a dynamic urgent care environment.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care and coordinate with families and practitioners.
• Educate patients to improve health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation for continuity of care.
• Support safety initiatives and a positive work environment.
