Job summary

Blue Mountains City Council – Katoomba NSW seeks an Urban Forest Officer to lead tree and urban forest management, enhancing public safety, biodiversity and canopy retention. The role includes tree health and risk assessments and coordinating with teams to implement sustainable programs.

The ideal candidate will have AQF Level 5 Arboriculture (or enrollment within three months), NSW Driver’s Licence, and a White Card, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• AQF Level 5 Arboriculture qualification (or enrollment within three months).
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence and White Card.

Responsibilities

• Lead tree and urban forest management initiatives to enhance safety, biodiversity and canopy.
• Conduct tree health and risk assessments using advanced tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on sustainable programs.
• Ensure compliance with legislation while integrating climate adaptation goals.
