Job summary

Gameloft Brisbane is seeking a talented Game Designer to join our team and bring the action of our upcoming projects to life. You will focus on gameplay systems and combat execution, translating high-level visions into polished, playable features, and iterating in-engine to achieve the perfect feel.

You will work with Senior Designers to refine movement, design encounters, prototype features in Unreal Engine using Blueprints, and ensure the game remains responsive, balanced and fun.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of professional game design experience.
• At least one shipped title or major contribution to a project.
• Strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, specifically Blueprints.
• Solid understanding of combat design, pacing and player feedback loops.
• Iterative mindset with rapid prototyping and refinement.
• Collaborative and proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Support combat development: implement and refine core combat mechanics with senior designers.
• Execute gameplay features across movement, interaction, and core loops.
• Design and script engaging combat encounters with level designers.
• Hands-on implementation in Unreal Engine to prototype features.
• Refine game feel through tuning timing, feedback, and responsiveness.
• Balance and tune combat values using playtest data.
• Collaborate with Animators and Engineers to align mechanics with visuals and tech.
• Document technical work to maintain clear team understanding.
