Job summary

City of Whittlesea is seeking a Unit Manager Direct Care as part of the Ageing Well team in Australia. The role focuses on overseeing a large team delivering safe, high-quality home support services under the Aged Care Act and driving continuous improvement across incidents, feedback and service trends.

You will lead change, develop policies, and coach staff to ensure services are responsive, people-centered and sustainable.

Responsibilities

• Managing a large team of Direct Care Workers and Contractors/Associate Providers to facilitate the delivering of safe and high-quality home support services in accordance with the Aged Care Act.
• Coordinating the response to incidents, complaints, feedback, missed services, performance data and service trends to support high quality services and identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement.
• The development, implementation and review of operational policies, plans and work instructions that support service sustainability, budget accountability, funding requirements, workforce capacity and community need.
• Provide leadership through reform, service redesign and operational change, ensuring staff understand service priorities, performance expectations and their role in delivering sustainable outcomes.
• Lead, coach and develop direct reports to support the delivery of safe, inclusive, customer-focused and accountable Community Care programs.
