Job summary

Anglo American Australia Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services team on a permanent basis. You will coordinate mine planning activities and help deliver the Business Plan and Monthly Operating Plan inputs, focusing on ventilation, gas management and safe, compliant operation.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will apply your expertise across XPAC, IntelliCAD, AutoCAD, Mine Planner and Deswik to optimise planning,

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Detailed understanding of coal mining processes.
• Working knowledge of mining legislation and its application.
• High level planning and problem-solving ability.
• Well-developed communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in underground mining operations (preferably coal).
• Experience with mine planning tools such as XPAC, IntelliCAD, AutoCAD, Mine Planner, Deswik.

Responsibilities

• Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine, supporting Zero Harm by ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation.
• Plan and coordinate mine planning (weekly, short-range, Monthly, 5 yearly and business planning) and production review meetings.
• Monitor, analyse and report mine performance and manage projects.
• Contribute to the effective management of ventilation, gas management, mine planning, and technical projects.
• Support designated process coordinators and interact effectively with the Operations team.
• Identify mine site productivity and process improvement programs, and raise ideas in areas such as safety, production, cost and efficiency.
• Lead the permit to mine process to ensure all technical aspects are addressed to maintain continuity to production.
• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all site interactions and take full ownership for safety on site.
