Macmahon Underground is expanding across Australia’s East Coast and invites applications from seasoned Underground Mine Superintendents. You’ll lead safety-focused operations, drive efficiency and maintain strong client and team relationships.

About the Role

Macmahon Underground is growing and expanding its footprint across Australia's East Coast, creating exciting opportunities for experienced underground mining leaders to join our team.

We are seeking applications from seasoned Underground Mine Superintendents who are passionate about operational excellence, people leadership and delivering exceptional project outcomes.

You play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of underground mining projects, ensuring safe, productive, and commercially successful operations while fostering strong client relationships and high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive contract compliance while optimising project outcomes and mitigating risk
• Set clear expectations: guide, develop and recognise your team
• Own schedules, resources and interfaces with client and suppliers
• Drive reliability and continuous improvement
• Foster a speak‑up culture where everyone is respected

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in an Underground Mine Superintendent role
• Hold at least one of the following mining leadership qualifications:
  • S26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate (WA)
  • S123/G189 Mining Supervisor ticket (QLD)
  • S10 Statutory Supervisor Certificate (NSW)
• Ability to build trust, set standards and make clear decisions
• Strong planning, problem‑solving and stakeholder skills
• Commitment to safe, high‑quality delivery
