Job summary

Macmahon is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to provide expert mining engineering capabilities to deliver practicable mine plans. You will work closely with operations, maintenance and HSEQT to optimise production and support plan compliance across open-cut mining activities.

Applicants should hold a tertiary degree in Mining Engineering with 4–5 years' practical experience, ideally in hard rock surface mining, and demonstrate strong leadership, analytics and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the Role

Provide Senior Mining Engineering expertise to safely deliver mine plans, ensuring production plans are practicable and executable for the mining operation. This role will work closely with operations, maintenance and HSEQT to provide technical support, drive plan compliance, optimise mining activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mine planning, design, scheduling and drill and blast activities to support safe and efficient production outcomes.
• Provide technical engineering analysis and commercial support to optimise mining performance and decision-making.
• Maintain production reporting systems and contribute to budget, forecast and progress claim development.
• Engage with operations and project teams to drive plan compliance and achieve business objectives.
• Identify and drive improvement opportunities, contribute to engineering best practice and maintain a strong focus on safety.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary Degree in Mining Engineering, or equivalent, with 4 to 5 years of practical experience & previous exposure to hard rock surface mining projects highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience in mine planning, design, scheduling and operational support within a mining environment.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, influence stakeholders and support effective decision-making.
• Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
