Job summary

Macmahon is offering an Underground Vacation Engineer Program for mining/civil engineering students. You’ll gain immersive, hands-on experience across core underground roles, setting you up for a direct pathway into our Graduate Program.

You’ll be part of a crew on various Goldfields region sites, with FIFO from Perth or Kalgoorlie, and the time spent on the program counts toward graduate tickets and requirements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mining or Civil Engineering.
• Interest in securing a spot in a high-performing graduate program.
• Valid manual C Class Australian Drivers Licence (Essential).
• Strong work ethic and team mindset required.
• Ready for a fast-paced underground production environment.
• Ability to manage fatigue and hydration across shifts.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality is essential.
• Good knowledge of underground mining operations and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on exposure across key underground operational roles.
• Learn productivity drivers on a mine site and contribute to daily tasks.
• Support the crew while counting towards graduate program requirements.
• Assist with safety compliance and regulatory tickets as needed.

About the Role
