Job summary
Catalyst Metals is seeking an Underground Mine Geologist to collect primary geological data and support planning for production targets at our underground operation. You will perform face mapping, core logging, sampling and QA/QC within a hands-on mining environment.
The role requires a BSc in Geology, a current C-class licence, and experience with SURPAC/Vulcan/Leapfrog. Strong teamwork and autonomous work style are essential for success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science with geology major.
- Current C-class manual driver's licence.
- Underground mining experience preferred (gold).
- Proficiency in 3D geology software: SURPAC, Vulcan, Leapfrog.
- Strong time management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to prioritise workload, work autonomously and with diverse stakeholders.
- Full Australian working rights.
Responsibilities
- Supervise ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
- Perform mapping, sampling and core logging to guide underground development.
- Provide directional guidance for each underground heading.
- Track ore from mine to ROM and ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor QA/QC of sampling and assaying processes.
- Maintain effective communication between geological, engineering, survey and operations teams.
