Job summary
Anglo American is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Aquila underground operation at Middlemount, QLD. You will work hands-on with maintenance and operational teams to improve asset reliability and ensure safe, efficient production outcomes.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent EEM, you will analyse issues, drive reliability initiatives and support capital projects while ensuring compliance with site standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Experience in mining, heavy industry or resource operations preferred.
- Strong maintenance and reliability knowledge.
- Analytical approach to technical issues and practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support across underground mining equipment and fixed plant assets.
- Drive equipment reliability and maintenance improvement initiatives.
- Manage asset integrity and engineering compliance activities.
- Investigate equipment failures and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support longwall, development and outbye maintenance teams.
- Lead and contribute to capital and improvement projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve equipment performance, availability and safety.
- Ensure compliance with site standards and engineering best practices.
