Macmahon is seeking an experienced underground drill operator for Mount Carlton Underground Mine, Queensland. You’ll operate Sandvik longhole rigs, applying advanced controls and ensuring safe, productive drilling across day and night shifts.

Join a team that prioritises safety, teamwork and continuous improvement. Minimum 2 years in underground drilling and a relevant mining qualification are preferred, with rostered 14/14 days and nights from Townsville.

Formación

• Minimum 2 years experience in underground drilling.
• Strong understanding of longhole stoping and production drilling.
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans, drill designs, layouts and stope instructions.
• Knowledge of ground support practices and safe stope entry procedures.
• Strong awareness of underground mining safety standards and regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Operate Sandvik DL422i and DL432i longhole drill rigs safely and efficiently.
• Utilise automation and rig control systems, including iSeries controls on the DL432i.
• Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections and basic maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Maintain accurate drilling records and production data.
• Collaborate with the underground team to optimise drilling performance and productivity.
• Contribute to a people-first culture and uphold Macmahon's Winning Values.
• Support teammates and foster a strong crew culture.
