Job summary

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is a global leader in underground hard-rock mining with operations across Australia. We are seeking a Long Hole Operator to contribute to safe, efficient underground production at multiple Western Australian sites.

You will operate long-hole drilling rigs, follow drill plans, perform pre-start checks, and collaborate with shotfirers and supervisors to ensure safe blast preparation. FIFO/DIDO options and opportunities for career progression are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Long Hole Operator or with jumbo rigs.
• Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow mine plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control long-hole drilling rigs to drill production and blast holes accurately.
• Read and follow drill plans, markings, and survey instructions.
• Conduct pre-start checks and basic maintenance on drilling equipment.
• Work with shotfirers, service crews, and supervisors to ensure safe blast preparation.
• Record drilling data and report equipment issues.
