Job summary

BHP is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for Broadmeadow Mine in Queensland, Australia. You will support development, production and outbye areas with strata control, geotechnical services and mine design input to enable safe execution of plans.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain robust data records, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while contributing to a best-in-class workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Geotechnical engineering degree required.
• Underground coal mining experience desired.
• Knowledge of ground control software beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage with operations at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for geotechnical processes and outcomes as defined in site plans and systems.
• Provide geotechnical advice to mine plans and strata control; support operations and planning.
• Investigate geotechnical concerns and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Develop hazard management plans with risk owners and stakeholders.
• Maintain records and report geotechnical hazards.
• Communicate safety information to personnel and contractors.
• Comply with regulations and site standards.
