Job summary

Cougar Drilling is seeking an experienced Underground Fitter to maintain underground drilling equipment and mobile plant in Moranbah, QLD. The role also involves acting as a Driller's Offsider when maintenance allows, offering variety and growth within a growing business.

You will perform scheduled and break-down maintenance, fault-diagnose hydraulic and mechanical systems, and contribute to safe, reliable operations underground. A strong safety culture and hands-on problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an underground environment.
• Strong fault-finding and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
• Experience with underground mobile plant or drilling equipment.
• Commitment to WHS and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performing scheduled and breakdown maintenance on underground drilling equipment and mobile plant
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults
• Maintaining equipment reliability, availability and performance
• Managing critical spares, consumables and maintenance inventory
• Completing maintenance documentation, equipment reports and work orders accurately
• Supporting underground drilling operations as a Driller's Offsider when required
• Identifying hazards, risks and non-conformances while maintaining a strong safety focus
• Working collaboratively with site personnel to achieve operational targets

Responsibilities Include:

Performing scheduled and breakdown maintenance on underground drilling equipment and mobile plant

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including the ability to interpret hydraulic schematics

Experience in maintaining underground mobile plant or drilling equipment

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Strong commitment to WHS

Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding underground environment

Highly Regarded

Experience working on underground drilling rigs

Certificate III in Drilling
