Job summary

Argo Natural Resources seeks an experienced underground fitter for Carborough Downs in Queensland. You will join an established BP underground crew in Bord and Pillar operations, performing routine and breakdown maintenance on underground equipment.

Requirements include a trade qualification, a current driver's licence, Standard 11, and willingness to obtain a Coal Board Medical. The role offers even-time rosters, DIDO/FIFO with camp accommodation, and attractive remuneration.

Qualifications

• Experience as an underground coal mine fitter required.
• Hold a relevant trade and a valid driver's licence.
• Underground breakdown experience is essential.
• Current Standard 11 Surface and Underground is preferred.
• Coal Board Medical or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on underground equipment.
• Maintain high safety standards while supporting underground mining operations.

Carborough Downs underground Bord and Pillar mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, approximately 30km north-east of Moranbah and 160km from Mackay and forms part of the broader Argo Complex. This integrated mining complex includes the Ironbark Longwall Mine and Broadlea Open Cut, as well as a centralised Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP), where collaboration between our sites and teams is key to delivering safe and efficient outcomes.

WHAT CAN YOU BRING?

• Demonstrated recent experience working as an underground coal mine Fitter in Bord and Pillar or Development
• Hold a relevant trade and drivers licence
• Have underground breakdown experience
• A strong commitment to safety — looking after yourself and your crew comes first!
• A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
• Hold a current Standard 11 Surface and Underground.
• Have or be willing to obtain a Coal Board Medical.
