Job summary

Argo Natural Resources in Queensland's metallurgical coal sector is seeking experienced Underground Electricians for the Ironbark No.1 mine site, based in Moranbah.

You will perform electrical maintenance, breakdown repairs, and preventive inspections across development, outbye and longwall areas, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Camp meals provided, 7/7 rosters, and opportunities for study support.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated trade qualifications and tickets for underground electrical work.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Coal Mining safety regulations and electrical standards.
  • Strong safety record and proactive risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment while effectively managing risks.
  • Perform electrical maintenance in accordance with Queensland Coal Mining legislation and safety requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of preventive and statutory inspections, addressing any maintenance requests.
  • Conduct breakdown repairs to electrical equipment as needed.
  • Support maintenance planning by providing job scoping and estimates for labour, parts, and materials.
  • Utilise your electrical knowledge and drive to maintain high standards that support the safe and efficient production of coal.

About the Roles We are currently offering exciting and rewarding opportunities for experienced Underground Electricians at Ironbark No.1 mine site. You will have the opportunity to work in various areas, including Development, Outbye, Longwall.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For
  • Extensive experience in underground coal operations.
  • Relevant Trade Qualifications and Tickets.
  • Queensland Standard 11 – Surface and Underground certification.
  • A Queensland Electrical License (or willingness to obtain).
  • Queensland Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain).
  • EEHA Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A proven track record of working safely.
  • A commitment to achieving business goals and outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A team-oriented attitude.
