Argo Natural Resources is seeking a geotechnical engineer to support underground coal operations in Queensland's Bowen Basin. You will oversee geotechnical risk management, lead investigations, and collaborate with geology, mining and operations teams to improve safety and efficiency on site.
Responsibilities include design and review of ground conditions, monitoring programs, hazard identification, and reporting to management.
Carborough Downs underground Bord and Pillar mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, approximately 30km north-east of Moranbah and 160km from Mackay and forms part of the broader Argo Complex. This integrated mining complex includes the Ironbark Longwall Mine and Broadlea Open Cut, as well as a centralised Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP), where collaboration between our sites and teams is key to delivering safe and efficient outcomes.
You will primarily focus on providing critical support to the team and manage project initiatives to improve operations on site. You will be a part of a collaborative team of professionals that have extensive operational and technical experience, with strength and focus on underground coal operations.
