Lawson Elliott Recruitment in Sydney CBD is seeking an Undergraduate/Junior Accountant to kick start their accounting career within a boutique CA firm. The role offers training from senior team members and exposure to tax and compliance duties for diverse clients.

Part-time (3 or 4 days) arrangements are considered for undergraduates still completing their degree, with opportunities to work across financial statements, tax returns, BAS, IAS, and payroll reconciliations.

Qualifications

• An accounting relevant tertiary degree - or be currently undertaking this
• Prior accounting experience (either in a firm or for a business) would be considered highly advantageous
• A genuine interest in growing your career in the accounting sector
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Xero software is highly advantageous although not essential

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
• Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG for a variety of companies
• Prepare and deliver annual workers compensation and payroll tax reconciliations
• Liaising with various statutory authorities such as the ATO & ASIC on behalf of client

My client is a boutique CA firm located in the heart of the CBD. Specialising in the SME market, the firm offers comprehensive services in accounting, taxation, SMSF and wealth management.

They are now seeking an Undergraduate/Junior Accountant looking to develop their career in a public pratice firm. You will have the opportunity to work across a broad scope of tax and compliance work for different clients, while receiving hands-on training from senior team members.

Inside the office you'll find a laid-back and down-to-earth teaam where you'll have direct access to the Partners.

The business is happy to consider part-time hours (3 or 4 days) for an undergraduate still completing their degree.
