Virgin Active in Sydney's Bondi Junction flagship seeks an energetic Assistant Store Manager for U Health Cafe to lead the cafe team, coach staff and drive day-to-day operations.

You will foster a welcoming culture, balance service with commercial outcomes, manage rosters, stock and training, and partner with the club leadership to deliver a seamless member experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing cafe team that delivers genuine, memorable service.
• Create a positive and engaging culture where team members feel supported and inspired to grow.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the cafe runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.
• Bring structure, pace and attention to detail to a complex day-to-day cafe operation where the expectations are high and the experience needs to feel effortless.
• Manage rostering, labour requirements and daily workflow planning.
• Maintain stock levels, ordering processes and inventory controls.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and service standards to deliver an exceptional experience, every time.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
• Drive sales initiatives and spot opportunities to improve commercial performance.
• Manage labour, wastage and stock costs while protecting a premium member experience.
• Partner with the wider club leadership team to create one seamless end-to-end member experience.
• Step into leadership of the cafe when the Store Manager is away.

Your Gig

As Assistant Store Manager, you will be the right hand to the Store Manager and a key leader within the cafe. You'll coach and support the team, drive operational excellence and help create an environment where both team members and members love to spend time.
