Job summary

Techforce JobAdder is seeking an experienced Tyre Fitter for a permanent role in Mackay, QLD. The position covers tyre fitting, changeouts and maintenance across the mobile fleet within an established open cut coal operation.

You will join the site maintenance team, performing tyre changes, inspecting rims and tyres, and supporting with fleet servicing while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated OTR tyre fitting experience on a mine site.
• Tyre Handler operation experience.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Tyre and rim changeouts on haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders and light vehicles.
• Fitting, removal and repair of OTR tyres in the field and in the workshop.
• Operation of tyre handlers and associated equipment.
• Pressure checks, inflations and routine tyre inspections.
• Rim and wheel component inspection, servicing and assembly.
• Tyre condition monitoring, wear reporting and record keeping.
• Assisting with fleet servicing tasks as required.
• Compliance with site isolation, tagging and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulation.

An opportunity is available for an experienced Tyre Fitter to join an established open cut coal operation in the Bowen Basin on a permanent full time basis.
The role involves tyre fitting, changeouts and maintenance across the mobile fleet, working as part of the site maintenance team.

The role

• Permanent full time position with staff conditions
• Salary package plus superannuation
• 7/7 Roster
• BIBO or DIDO Townsville or Mackay
• Camp accommodation, meals and site transport provided

Requirements

• Current C class driver's licence
• Coal Board Medical, current or willing to obtain
• Standard 11 Generic Induction, current or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen

Desirable

• Certificate III in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent
• HR or HC licence
• Experience with 777, 785 or larger haul truck classes
• Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP tickets
• Forklift and plant operating tickets
• Trade assistant or HD Fitter support experience
