Job summary

Cracka Excavations is looking for an experienced truck driver and machine operator to join our Canberra team across civil construction and excavation projects in Canberra and the surrounding region.

You will drive Kenworth trucks, operate excavators and Bobcat/Posi Track, perform site works and maintain equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Current HC licence or higher with clean driving record.
• Experience driving truck and dog or semi tipper.
• Experience operating excavators and Bobcat/Posi Track.
• Tickets or competencies relevant to site safety and operation.

Responsibilities

• Drive Kenworth T908 truck and dog and semis to transport materials.
• Operate earthmoving equipment including excavators and Bobcat/Posi Track.
• Carry out site cuts, bulk and detailed excavation, trenching and loading.
• Perform pre-start checks and keep equipment clean and well maintained.
• Work to site levels and follow site instructions.
• Collaborate with other operators and trades on site.

Job description

Cracka Excavations is looking for an experienced truck driver and machine operator to join our team across civil construction and excavation projects in Canberra and the surrounding region.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Kenworth T908 truck and dog and Kenworth K200 semi tipper, carting spoil, soil, gravel and other construction materials
• Operate a range of earthmoving equipment, including excavators and Bobcat/Posi Track machines
• Carry out site cuts, bulk and detailed excavation, trenching, loading trucks and site preparation
• Complete daily pre-start checks and keep equipment clean and well maintained
• Work accurately to levels and follow site instructions
• Work independently and alongside other operators and trades

About you

• Current HC licence or higher
• Truck and dog and/or semi tipper experience
• Previous excavator and Bobcat/Posi Track experience
• Experience with 18-speed Road Ranger gearboxes preferred
• Relevant operating tickets or competencies
• Construction White Card required
• Safe driving habits and confidence working on construction sites
• Strong focus on safety and looking after machinery
• Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of the team
• Reliable transport
