Job summary

The University of Adelaide is seeking a counsellor/mental health clinician for the Student Wellbeing and Safety team, based at the City East campus. This part-time (0.6 FTE) continuing role offers a pro-rated salary range and 17% superannuation.

The role reports to the Senior Manager, Student Wellbeing and Safety, and is aligned with the Student Experience and Success Portfolio within the University. Applicants must have eligibility to register with the Psychology Board of Australia or AASW.

Qualifications

• Experience as a counsellor/mental health clinician with evidence of high-level competence in delivering services and supporting individuals.
• Demonstrated experience providing intake and assessment services, including triage and crisis interventions.
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills across diverse backgrounds.
• Eligibility to register with the Psychology Board of Australia through AHPRA and/or the AASW is required.

Experience

• Experience as a counsellor and/or mental health clinician, with evidence of high- level competence in delivering services and supporting individuals with mental health conditions and/or crisis
• Demonstrated experience providing intake and assessment services, including triage and crisis interventions, to a diverse client group
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, including the ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of educational, social, and cultural backgrounds
• Eligibility to register with the Psychology Board of Australia through the Australian Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and/or the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is also required
