Job summary

Adelaide University invites applications for a part-time (0.6 FTE) counsellor/mental health clinician within the Student Experience and Success Portfolio at City East campus. The role focuses on delivering intake, assessment and crisis interventions for a diverse student body, reporting to the Senior Manager, Student Wellbeing and Safety.

Applicants should have evidence of high-level competence in mental health services, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and eligibility to register

Qualifications

• Experience as a counsellor and/or mental health clinician with high-level competence in delivering services and supporting individuals with mental health conditions and/or crisis.
• Intake and assessment services including triage and crisis interventions for diverse client groups.
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to work with people from varied backgrounds.

• Part-time (0.6 FTE), continuing role
• Salary Range: $116,320 - $130,498 (pro-rated) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

Experience

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

• Experience as a counsellor and/or mental health clinician, with evidence of high- level competence in delivering services and supporting individuals with mental health conditions and/or crisis
• Demonstrated experience providing intake and assessment services, including triage and crisis interventions, to a diverse client group
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, including the ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of educational, social, and cultural backgrounds
• Eligibility to register with the Psychology Board of Australia through the Australian Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and/or the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is also required
