Queensland Rail is seeking a Mechanical Rollingstock Maintainer to join the Traveltrain team based in Bowen Hills, just outside Brisbane CBD. You will inspect, maintain and repair mechanical components in the rollingstock fleet to keep services safe, efficient and reliable.

The role operates on a 76-hour fortnight roster with morning, afternoon and weekend day shifts. The package includes $110,858–$120,395 plus superannuation, with overtime and allowances.

Qualifications

• Trades Certificate or equivalent qualification as Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter, Fitter/Welder or Motor Mechanic.
• Fault-finding experience in Diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatics and refrigeration.
• Strong focus on safety and rollingstock knowledge.

About the role

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Rollingstock Maintainer on a fixed term until April 2027 with possibility for extension basis to join our Traveltrain team based in Bowen Hills (just outside Brisbane CBD). In this position you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical components in our rollingstock fleet. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our transportation services.

Hours and Salary

Working in this team on the current roster a Mechanical Rollingstock Maintainer earns between $110,858 - $120,395 plus superannuation based on a 76-hour fortnight. This includes the allowances and penalty rates for weekend and afternoon/night shifts. Overtime is also available.

The roster will include morning, afternoon and weekend day shifts. You must be available to meet these requirements to be considered for this role.

About you

We are open to a variety of backgrounds, including but not limited to:

• Trades Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter, Fitter/ Welder, Motor Mechanic or hold an equivalent qualification
• Proven fault-finding experience in Diesel engines, hydraulics systems, pneumatics and refrigeration
• Strong focus on safety
• Rollingstock
