Job summary

Queensland Rail is seeking a Mechanical Rollingstock Maintainer to join the Traveltrain team in Bowen Hills, just outside Brisbane CBD, on a fixed term until April 2027 with extension potential. You will inspect, maintain and repair rollingstock mechanical components to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability of our transport services.

The role operates on a 76-hour fortnight roster with morning, afternoon and weekend shifts, and offers allowances for weekends and nights, plus overtime.

Qualifications

• Trades certificate in mechanical trade (Fitter/Diesel Fitter/ Welder/ Motor Mechanic) or equivalent.
• Fault-finding experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and refrigeration.
• Strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair rollingstock mechanical components to ensure safety and reliability.
• Respond to faults with fault-finding across diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and refrigeration.
• Support safety and reliability of rollingstock services on a 76-hour fortnight roster.
