Job summary

Expedition Partners, based in the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, is expanding and seeking a motivated travel consultant. We offer either part-time (minimum 22.5 hours) or full-time roles with regular weekday hours and no weekend work.

The ideal candidate has travel agency sales experience and a passion for unique expedition cruises and rail journeys. The role involves handling inquiries, making bookings, and coordinating with offshore support to deliver seamless client experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of travel sales experience.
• Prior experience in a travel agency as a sales consultant is essential.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for prospects contacting the company.
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries and advise options within budget and preferences.
• Follow up enquiries and help overcome concerns and objections.
• Make travel bookings.
• Liaise with offshore support to ensure bookings are processed.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Stay up-to-date on core destinations and travel products.

Based in the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Expedition Partners is a trusted and reputable travel company that has been in business for over twenty years.

Now specializing in expedition cruises (Arctic, Antarctica, Kimberley, etc), and expedition rail (Africa, Silk Road, Australia, Europe, India) itineraries, our passionate team of professionals aim to assist our clients with creating their dream holiday experience.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced travel consultant to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis during a new period of rapid growth. Opportunities for both full time and part time roles.

• Consistent Monday - Friday hours (9:30am - 5:30pm), with no weekends or late nights (apart from occasional functions) for a healthy work/life balance

Key deliverables include but are not limited to:

• First point of contact for prospects contacting the company
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries, listen to clients wants and advise about suitable options in line with their budget and preferences whilst building rapport
• Follow up enquiries and help overcome prospects concerns and objections
• Make travel bookings
• Liaise with our off-shore support team to ensure bookings are administered efficiently
• Build and maintain relationships with our key suppliers
• Remain up-to-date on our core destinations and travel products

Our ideal team member

• Personable and friendly with a natural ability to connect with clients and suppliers from varied backgrounds
• Prior experience in a travel agency as a sales consultant is essential
• Minimum 2 years of travel sales experience required
• Able to manage time and prioritize tasks appropriatelyTech savvy, with the ability to familiarize and then utilize new and established digital systems
• A natural team player with a desire to assist where needed
• Personal travel experience in the Kimberley region and/or Polar regions would be an advantage
