Job summary

MacKillop Family Services in Nowra, NSW, is seeking Therapeutic Youth Workers to support young people in our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) program. The role is full-time, on-site, with opportunities for growth and a commitment to trauma-informed practice.

You will mentor youth, model positive behaviors, support daily living, and work with a dedicated team to meet individual needs. Significant disability experience is preferred and flexibility for shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support services.
• Trauma-informed approach to working with youth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and engage young people through life skills development.
• Model positive behaviors and social responsibility.
• Empower youth to participate in decisions affecting their lives.
• Provide day-to-day support like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with a team to tailor services to each young person.
• Report concerns to safeguard wellbeing.
