Job summary

Gold Coast Disability and Youth is seeking an experienced Complex Disability Support Worker to provide care to youth NDIS participants with complex neurodevelopmental, trauma-related, and high-intensity behavioural needs in Nerang, QLD. You will implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP), support emotional regulation, and assist with community engagement.

The role requires trauma-informed co-regulation, de-escalation, and independent, accountable decision-making in high-stress settings.

Qualifications

• Industry qualifications required: Certificate III or IV in relevant field.
• Clearances: NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card) and Blue Card.
• Driver’s licence and insured vehicle needed for community access.
• HLTAID011 First Aid/CPR certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Behaviour Support: reinforce PBSPs with trauma-informed care and de-escalation.
• Community & Social Inclusion: help participants access recreational and skill-building activities.
• Daily Living Support: assist with routines, emotional regulation, and life skills.
• Reporting: maintain shift notes, behaviour logs, and incident reports.
